Three months have passed since the first posting on the Kats&Kits blog. We have gone from the very hot days of high summer to the last days of autumn. We are now appreciating every good day that we get and hoping that they continue for a while longer yet. Apart from a few isolated days of heavy rain, we have had wonderful warm sunny days with spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
The hedgerows and trees are full of fruit and berries which the birds will enjoy throughout the winter. I have been feeding the hedgehogs well, so that they will put on enough weight to see them through the winter, but I don’t think they will hibernate unless the weather gets colder. Seventeen degrees here today, three degrees higher than average for the time of year. |
About Kats & Kits:Kats & Kits is a long established cat sanctuary based in the depth of the UK's mystical Wiltshire countryside, on the edge of Salisbury Plain, near the white horses of Alton Barnes and Westbury. Run by a small dedicated team we aim to provide a home to rescued cats where re-homing is not a viable option. This blog documents the daily challenges the group has overcome since 1994 to provide care and shelter for abandonded, stray and unwanted cats.
