22 October 2006Here we have Ebony, grateful for the warm autumn nights for she was found all on her own in a car park. Approximately five weeks old and very hungry, was she lost, abandoned by her mother or dumped by humans? We will never know. Luckily Ebony was found by people who cared. Anxious that her mother might return they made her a shelter and bought special kitten formula from the vets to feed her. However after asking at every house and shop in the vicinity and waiting for many hours for the mother they became worried because the kitten was not feeding, so decided to seek some help. They took her to a local vet who suggested Kats&Kits and of course Lorraine took her in. Apart from being very hungry, she soon demolished a plate of kitten food, and needing several days treatment for fleas and lice she seems in reasonable health. Ebony is a friendly and happy kitten, which would suggest she has had some human contact, but where she came from will always be a mystery. Animal stories don’t always have a happy ending, but this one looks as if it might, if all goes well in a few weeks time she will go to her new home with the kind people who found her. |
About Kats & Kits:Kats & Kits is a long established cat sanctuary based in the depth of the UK's mystical Wiltshire countryside, on the edge of Salisbury Plain, near the white horses of Alton Barnes and Westbury. Run by a small dedicated team we aim to provide a home to rescued cats where re-homing is not a viable option. This blog documents the daily challenges the group has overcome since 1994 to provide care and shelter for abandonded, stray and unwanted cats.
